2024 Block a Month Crochet Along
The Block a Month Crochet Along has operated on Ravelry forums for over 15 years. The moderators want to ensure the CAL is accessible to as many crafters as possible. As such, as one of the moderators, I will be posting details of the CAL squares here, and on the Catkitbob_Crochet Instagram page as they are announced.

We are delighted to open our CAL once again with a brand new design from Polly Plum.

January Members Choice - Sage Advice
8 square designs were put to the vote, and the first winner is this 2022 design from Pam Knighton-Haener.
The pattern can be found on A Yarn of Serendipity website.
January 6 inch - 6-7-8 Square
A simple 6 inch to start this part of the CAL off, with this now retired pattern from Jessica Phillips.

Feb 2024 Main Square - Awaken Square
Alice @the_burrow brings us this delightfully dense square as our February offering.
It is available in both US and UK terminology as a Ravelry download.
February Members choice - Hestia
The members have chosen Hestia by Diana Krenz as our second square of the month.
This is available as a free Ravelry download.
February 6 Inch- Cecilia Square
This square by Cypress textiles is available from Rachel’s website. The photo is Lynne’s version of this pattern.
March 2024 Main- Isobel Grace
A pattern with both US and UK terminology version from CatsWhiskers Crochet, this one is downloadable from Ravelry.
Choose the right colours for a tulip like effect.
MArch members choice - madux james
The members voted for another square from Pam Knighton-Haener’s Legacy Series to be the March second square.
Pam’s website gives details of various options for getting this pattern.
March 6 inch - radiance
This perfectly formed little square is the smaller one for March.

April 2024 Main - Daisy Diamonds
We are delighted to have encouraged new moderator Mermaid Wiggle to design this square which is packed with interest.
Again both US and UK terminology versions are available, and this is a Ravelry download.
April members Choice - away with the fairies
A whimsical design based on toadstools was the winner of the vote this month.
The design by Lettice Rose is available as a Ravelry download.
April 6 Inch - Bumpy Ride Square
This is a pattern with 6 and 12 inch options by Marie Segares (Underground Crafter).
There is a free version on her blog.
MAY 2024 Main - Mariko Afghan Square
We welcome Diana Krenz back to the CAL with this new design for us.

MAY Members choice - denna
Another Polly Plum favourite was chosen by the members vote for this year’s CAL.

This pattern choice is from Veronika Liachovic.

June 2024 Main square - Moonstone rose
We are delighted that Melinda Miller has designed for us once again, with this beauty, named after an equally beautiful real flower.

june members choice - forever bloom
Obviously a floral theme was in members minds when they voted for this square from SistersInStitch. The pattern suggests different pallets for different seasons.

JULY 2024 - glucksklee
July’s new design comes from another of our moderators - Loewenzahm, and is themed around a 4 leaved clover leaf.

A square from Helen Shrimpton (Crystals and Crochet) was the vote winner this month.
The pattern is freely available on the Crystals and Crochet website - but you will need a log-in before you can access the pattern.

August 2024 Main Square - Fiona

Continuing the flowery theme that has emerged, the vote this month is for this pattern by Kirsten Holloway that never fails to impress.

The smaller square this month is the Sand Dollar square from Caitie Moore of Thoresby Cottage.
September 2024 Main square - serpent star
A quirky design from Lettice Rose, brings a star fish to the CAL - this one has bullion stitches, or an alternative.

September Members Choice - Mum’s the word
A real blast from the past, with a square originally published by April Moreland in 2009 winning the vote.

September 6 inch - mar azul
A smaller square from Loewenzahm is the September selection.
October 2024 Main Square - Pomona
An abundance of autumn fruit was the inspiration for this new design from Virklust Designs - Karin’s first especially for the CAL.
It is available as a Ravelry download.
Octobers Members Choice - Crochet Motif 108
A beautifully crafted square from VCrochet, this design won the monthly vote.

October 6 inch - Rustic Granny Square
This month’s smaller square comes from the Passionate Crafter, and creates heart shaped motifs in the corners.

November 2024 Main Square - Mystified
A stunning new design from a Yarn of Serendipity was featured in November.
Pam’s designs are available on a number of platforms including Ravelry, LoveCrafts, Makerist and Ribblr. A limited time discount code was published on the Ravelry BAMCAL thread for this square.
november members choice - the Fab5Flower square
The vote winner was this design which incorporates the separate Fab5Flower design into a larger square.
The Flower centre is available on the web page of Sisters in Stitch. The squaring up is a Ravelry download.
November 6 Inch - Burst of Popcorns
A positive bundle of popcorn stitches adorn this small square from Dragonflymomof2.

december 2024 main square - continuance
A nice, simple, meditatively repetitive square was brought to us by Oombawka Design.

December members choice - sugar Plum Delight
After its appearance in another CAL, our members decided it should also feature in ours. It is a rich, dense square in total contrast to the main option this month.

The final small square of the year is this beauty from Lisa Mauser.
